CUSAT 2013 Admission Procedure


Cochin University conducts its own All India Entrance Examination for admission to different programs for the appearing students. The Entrance Examination is known to be as CUSAT 2013 Entrance Examination and will be conducted in the first week of May, 2013.

CUSAT 2013 Application Form Availability


CUSAT 2013 application form will be available only in online mode. So, those students who want to appear in the Entrance Examination of CUSAT 2013 will have to fill its form through online mode. The application form will be available soon from the 3rd Week of January, 2013 and can be downloaded from the official Website of CUSAT ii.e. http://www.cusat.nic.in. The last date for filling the online application form will end in the 2nd week of February, 2013.

CUSAT 2013 Application form Fee Structure

The online Application or registration fee for appearing in the Entrance Test of CUSAT 2013 is Rs. 100 only. This amount can be paid at SBI or SBT branches by cash or by online payment using Credit / Debit cards. Students can also send a Demand Draft for the Online Application Registration in favor of ‘Registrar, CUSAT’ Payable at Cochin.

Students who want to appear in CUSAT 2013 can pay cash payment at SBI or SBT bank of India using the chellan which could be printed in the process of filling of online application form.
Payment can also be made with the help of Credit / Debit / ATM card.
Interested Students can also send a Demand Draft for the Online Application Registration in favor of ‘Registrar, CUSAT’ Payable at Cochin issued by SBT or SBI ONLY.
NOTE: Candidates must write his / her name and Application No. on the reverse side of the DD.

CUSAT 2013 Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria has been made different for the Kerala Students and other states students.

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Students


Kerala Students who want to appear in CUSAT 2013 Engineering Entrance Examination should have passed in 10+2 Final Board Examination from the state Board of Kerala with compulsory subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Optional Subject Chemistry.



Eligibility Criteria for Non – Kerala Students

Students who belong to other states than Kerala and want to appear in CUSAT 2013 Engineering Entrance test should have passed 10+2 final Board Examination from central board of education or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 % marks in Mathematics and a total of 50 % in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together.

The CUSAT 2013 notifications have not yet been released. The candidates will get to know about the exam details in the month of January, 2013. The following information has been gathered from the last year information brochure for the candidates to get a basic idea about the exam till new updates are out.
The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) will conduct the test for both Indian and Foreign Nationals for admission in various undergraduate degree courses. The foreign national are exempted from the test but they have to apply for the exam.

CUSAT 2013 Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must have cleared Class XII exams from State of Kerala with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The candidates who have taken any other equivalent exam are also eligible under the provisions of CUSAT 2013 Eligibility Criteria.
The candidates must have obtained a minimum 50% aggregate in PCM and 50% in the subject of Mathematics alone in the qualifying exam.
The CUSAT 2013 Eligibility Criteria norms have relaxed the minimum aggregate requirement for the SEBC Candidates of Kerala State and have kept the lower limit at 45%.
CUSAT 2013 Application Form:
CUSAT 2013 Application Form filling must be completed as per the given instructions and according to the norms of the CUSAT 2013.
The foreign candidates have to complete the CUSAT 2013 Application Form Online and make a payment as specified in the CUSAT 2013 Brochure via a DD / Pay Order or any other means as specified.
The DD for the form fee must be drawn in favor of ‘Registrar, CUSAT’. After online registration process completion, the candidates should print out the completely filled CUSAT 2013 Application Form or the confirmation page along with the fee and documents at the following address:

CUSAT 2013 Reservation of Seats:
50% seats will be reserved for the resident students of Kerala. These candidates will also be awarded free seats depending on their CUSAT 2013 Score.
40% seats will be reserved for the students of other states as per the norms of CUSAT 2013 Reservation of Seats, except in 3 branches.
Payment seat allocation will be done on the basis of CUSAT 2013 Score.
10% seats will be reserved in Polymer, ICE and Naval Courses as per the norms of CUSAT 2013 Reservation of Seats.
CUSAT 2013 Counselling:
The detailed schedule of the counseling will be made available on website. The candidates have to be physically present at counseling venue as per the given schedule.
No individual CUSAT 2013 Counselling call letters will be sent to the candidates via post or any other means.
The candidates have to obey given schedule in which the days and time will be specified for the candidates of a particular rank range as per which they will be assigned seats according to their choices and available vacancy.

The Application Forms of ISAT 2013 have not yet been released but the following information will give an overview of the complete application process. The following article is based on the information from last year and will be updated as soon as the new notifications are out.


The ISAT 2013 Application Form will have three important events associated with it during the process of applying for the ISAT 2013.


  • Registering ONLINE.
  • Sending the INSTITUTE COPY of Bank Challan.
  • Checking the ISAT 2013 Application Form status.
Registering Online:

The candidates can visit the website- www.iist.ac.in/isat2013 for online registration. This portal will be open from the first week of November to the Last week of December 2012.
Prior filling the ISAT 2013 Application Form, candidates should download the Prospectus of ISAT 2013 and read the instructions carefully to avoid any error during applying as no change in any information is allowed at any later stages.

The online registration via ISAT 2013 Application Form will require a working email id of the candidate which is to be kept alive and secured till the admission process is complete.
The candidate should enter the credentials in ISAT 2013 Application Form with full care and verify the details before clicking the “Next Step” button.As soon as the basic details of the candidate have been filled in the ISAT 2013 Application Form, there will be field regarding the PASSWORD. The candidates should preserve this password for all the future references.
After this, the choice for the exam centers and the bank branches for the CHALLAN should be filled in the ISAT 2013 Application Form.

Before advancing to the next page, the candidate should verify all the details filled in by him/her as NO back going is allowed after this stage.
To complete the registration process by ISAT 2013 Application Form, the candidate should now press the SUBMIT button and a message will be displayed regarding successful registration with the unique ISAT REGISTRATION NUMBER which is to be preserved carefully till the admission process is complete.

The candidate will also get an email on the email id mentioned in the ISAT 2013 Application Form, bearing all the details supplied by him/her.

Now the candidate has to download the challan by clicking on “Get My Challan” which should be printed out on an A4 sheet and deposited at the bank branch selected earlier.
For the above step, the candidate would have to login using the loginid and password.
The last date of depositing the Challan at the bank will be around the first week of January 2013.

Sending the INSTITUTE COPY of Bank Challan:

The candidate has to get the institute copy countersigned by the bank official and sent via SPEED POST in an envelope bearing the REGISTRATION NUMBER clearly to:

The status of ISAT 2013 Application Form can be checked on the ISAT 2013 portal after the last week of February 2013 in order to be assured about the delivery of the form.

IIST Admission Test i.e. ISAT 2013 will be held in the last week of April, 2013. All the questions will be of Objective type and will consist of the questions of three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and mathematics.


The Syllabus of ISAT 2013 will be very much similar to the Syllabus of JEE main 2013.

ISAT 2013 Exam date and its center
ISAT 2013 will be held in the last week of April, 2013 after the JEE Main Entrance Examination which will be conducted on 7th April, 2013.

ISAT 2013 will be conducted in total 22 Major cities of India that include: Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Varanasi, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Patna, Vishakapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Kolkata, Port Blair, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Delhi, Lucknow, Ranchi, Mumbai.

Eligibility required for appearing in ISAT 2013

Birth Date: The birth date of General/OBC candidates should be on or after 1st October, 1988 and for SC/ST/PD categories candidates the bith date should be on or after 1st October, 1983.

Final qualifying Exam: Those Students who have qualified their 10+2 final Examination or any other Equivalent Examination in 2012 or will appear for that in 2013 can apply for ISAT 2013.

Percentage of Marks Obtained in Class X: For General/OBC category candidates the minimum aggregate % of marks in Class X should be 70% and for SC/ST/PD it should be a minimum of 60%.

Percentage of Marks in Class XII: For General/OBC categories students, the minimum requirement of aggregation are 70% and it reduces to 60% for SC/ST/PD candidates.

Important Dates to Remember for ISAT 2013 appearing candidates
Application form of ISAT 2013 will be available from 1st week of November, 2012 in online mode.
Final submission of ISAT 2013 completed form will end in the last week of December, 2012.
ISAT 2013 Entrance Test will be conducted in the last week of April, 2013 after JEE Main, 2013 Examination.

Exam Pattern:

VITEE question paper covers 4 parts. The subjects are like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Candidates applied for Engineering programmes needed to attempt part 1,2 & 3 and those who are opted for Bio-Medical Programmex neede to attempt part 1,2 & 4. Each section contains 40 objective questions which carry one mark for each question. Questions based on State Board of Higher Secondary School and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curruculum only. There is no negative marking.



Eligibility:

A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB).
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

The Maharashtra SSC (Secondary School Certificate) and HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exam for the year 2013 shall start in the month of February and March, 2013. The examination is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Candidates Please Note :

Timings should be followed as mentioned in the Time Table.
Students coming late for exam are not encouraged.
